Shalom Friend!

Somewhere in Israel today, there is a Jewish person who knows the name of David, but does not know the Son of David. He may know the story of Abraham. He may have heard the words of Isaiah. He may recognize the Psalms. He may have stood in a synagogue in Jerusalem, the city of the Great King, while passages from the Torah were read aloud. And yet he may have never been shown that all these Scriptures are pointing toward Yeshua.

This is why “Introducing the King to Israel” mean so much to me.

At sundown on September 11, Israel entered the Day of Trumpets. Across our land, the ancient sound of the shofar was heard again. That sound is difficult to ignore. A trumpet interrupts. A trumpet awakens. A trumpet announces that something important is happening.

As I thought about the shofar sounding across Israel, my heart went immediately to another trumpet. The one that has not yet sounded. 1 Cor. 15:52 tells us that “the trumpet will sound.” 1Thess. 4:16 says the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with “the trumpet of God.”

One day, the trumpet will sound again, and Yeshua will return. But He will not return as He came the first time. He came in humility. He allowed Himself to be rejected. Earthly rulers mocked His Kingship, placed a crown of thorns upon His head, and wrote above Him, “Kingof the Jews.” They meant it as ridicule. God was declaring the truth.

When He returns, He will not come wearing a crown of thorns. He will come as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Israel needs to know her King before the trumpet sounds.

And what makes this message so powerful is that we do not have to invent an argument to prove His Kingship. We simply have to open the Scriptures.

The trail begins with Abraham. In Genesis 12, God called Abraham and promised that through him all the families of the earth would be blessed. Genesis 17:6 adds, “Kings will come out of you.” Already, something royal was being woven into the covenant.

Years later, Jacob gathered his sons before him. When he spoke over Judah, his words reached far beyond Judah himself. Genesis 49:10 declares that “the scepter will not depart from Judah” until Shiloh comes. A scepter belongs to a king. Shiloh points toward the One to whom the right of rule belongs. God was narrowing the road. From Abraham… to Judah… toward a King.

Then Balaam declared, “A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel” (Numbers24:17). Again—the scepter, the King. Again—God whispering through history: He is coming.

Then David appeared. A shepherd boy became Israel’s king, but David himself was never the final destination. In 2Samuel 7, God made a covenant with David and promised that one of his descendants would possess a throne and kingdom established forever. Imagine David hearing that promise. His own life would end. Generations would come and go. Yet God said forever. Who could possibly fulfill such a promise?

Isaiah Knew. In chapter 9, he sees a Child whose government rests upon His shoulders, reigning upon David’s throne forever. Jeremiah saw Him. In chapter 23, God promised to raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who would reign wisely.

The Psalms saw him. Psalm 2 presents God’s Messiah and says, “Kiss the Son.” Psalm 89 remembers God’s promise to David: “I will establish your offspring forever.” Psalm 110 records the mysterious words of David: “Yahweh says to my Lord, ‘Sit at My right hand.’” David’s Son, yet David’s Lord.

And then, after centuries of waiting, an angel named Gabriel appeared to a Jewish virgin named Miriam. Listen to what he told her. Luke 1:32 says God would give her Son “the throne of His father David.” Luke 1:33 declares, “He will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to His Kingdom.”

There is David’s covenant again. There is Isaiah’s King. There is Judah’s scepter. There is Balaam’s prophecy. There is Abraham’s promised royal line.

And suddenly Matthew 1:1 becomes breathtaking: “Yeshua the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” Matthew did not choose those names accidentally. Before he tells us anything else, he reaches backward toward the two great covenant promises and says, in effect: The One you have been waiting for has arrived.

This is the message we desperately want Israel to see.

Can you imagine the moment? Perhaps he sits silently looking at his phone. Perhaps he goes back and reads the passage again. Perhaps a question begins forming in his heart: “Could Yeshua really be the Messiah promised to our people?” That one question could change eternity.
